Location and
Directions
Directions From the South
Take the M4 until it
ends at Junction 49, At the roundabout, take the second
exit, signposted Carmarthen (A48) At next roundabout,
after 4 miles, take the third exit, signposted Carmarthen (A48). When you reach the first roundabout at Carmarthen,
take the third exit, signposted Llandeilo (A40) At the
next roundabout, continue straight on signposted Llandeilo
(A40) At the next roundabout, take the first exit,
signposted Lampeter (A485) At the next roundabout, take
the second exit signposted Lampeter (A485) Continue for 8
miles, take a left, signposted Pencader (B4459) Continue
for 3 miles, take a left, signposted Llandysul (B4336) At
first T junction after 1.5 miles (after Pencader) take a
left, signposted Llandysul (B4336) At next T junction
after 1 mile (at Llandysul), take a right, signposted A486
New Quay. At next T junction after 11 miles (at
Synod Inn), turn right on to the A487 to Llanarth. Turn
left at Llanarth (by the bright yellow 'Llanina Arms' pub and restaurant)
on the B4342 . After half a mile you will see the
Woodlands Holiday Village signposted on your right.
Directions from the Midlands
or the North
There are a
number of routes that can be taken to the Cottages from the
Midlands and the North depending on the starting location.
These will be either through Aberystwyth or
Lampeter.
Via Aberystwyth: Take the
A487
from Aberystwyth to Llanarth. Turn
right at Llanarth on the B4342 (by the bright
yellow 'Llanina Arms' pub
and restaurant ). After half a mile you will see the
Woodlands Holiday Village signposted on your right. The
entrance to Plas-Y-Wern is the next gateway on the right
after this.
Via Lampeter: Take the A482 to
Aberaeron ( don't be tempted by the 'short cut' from
Ystrad Aeron to Llanarth - several people have got lost coming this way). At
Aberaeron turn left on the A487 to Llanarth. Turn
right at Llanarth on the B4342 (by the bright
yellow 'Llanina Arms' pub
and restaurant ). After half a mile you will see the
Woodlands Holiday Village signposted on your right.
In the Holiday Village: Keep to the
right after entering, and just before you reach the
swimming pool, there is a parking area below the last
group of chalets. Chalet 29 is facing you at the top of a
grassy slope. Please do not walk up the slope, but find
the gently sloping path between the chalets on the right
hand side. Take this path for approx 40 yards (there are 7
steps also), turn left at the top where you will find
Chalet 29.
